A marvel of traditional craftsmanship, the temple was constructed entirely without steel in its superstructure. It was built following ancient Hindu architectural methods, using intricately hand-carved pink sandstone from Rajasthan and pristine Italian marble. For years, a vast team of skilled artisans worked meticulously to carve the complex pillars, domes, and facades, requiring extensive coordination between Indian craftsmen and local UAE authorities.
Now entering its third year, the Mandir continues to attract a steady stream of devotees from across the Emirates and beyond for daily prayers, vibrant festivals, and religious ceremonies. Reflecting on the milestone, Pujya Brahmavihari Swami, the head of the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi, expressed profound spiritual joy. He noted that the temple’s inauguration by Prime Minister Modi added a “golden chapter” to human history. “The Mandir gives a single message to the world,” he stated, “one of harmony—spiritual harmony and human harmony.” He added that millions of people have visited the landmark over the past two years, drawn by its spiritual essence and powerful message of unity.
